All Method, No Madness to this Packaging
While it may be what originally landed it in my closet of housekeeping supplies, Method isn’t just attractive packaging and great copywriting surrounding a wonderfully aromatic, eco-friendly cleaning experience. Now Method’s new bottles take recycling to a whole new level by sourcing post-consumer plastic from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
To quote Adam Lowry, Method co-founder and chief greenskeeper, “We’ve created a usable bottle from ocean plastic and upcycled it into something useful that can be recycled again and again.” This is particularly important, since that warm, fuzzy feeling many consumers get from tossing their plastics into the recycling bin could be squelched by the fact that most plastics get "downcycled" into other plastic products that can’t be recycled again.
Kudos to Method for raising awareness of the ongoing plastics problem, AND coming up with a way to fix it for good.
