PLASTIC GOES FANTASTIC TO DELIVER A MESSAGE
The UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro wrapped earlier this month, but not without an amazing installation on Botafogo Beach, where discarded plastic bottles found new life as sculpture.
This year’s conference highlighted plastics as one of the most problematic ocean pollutants. So, according to the Surfrider Foundation, “the sculptures serve as a reminder for beach-goers to recycle plastic bottles in order to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in our oceans.”
