Need to make a splash in the advertising waters? Here’s how to do it in 3 easy steps:

1. Have a great deal worth remembering: something like Sprint’s $50 unlimited data, talk & text plan that is a very small fraction of what I’m currently paying with Verizon.

2. Find an annoyingly catchy viral video that kids want to sing along with: something like the narwhal song, which celebrates the horned fish (funny in themselves) in cartoon-theme-song style. (Bonus points if there are lyrics that resonate with 8-year-old boys…like the word “balls.”)

3. Bring your message together with the viral video, acknowledging that you’re only doing it to permanently imprint viewers’ brains.

That’s exactly what the mobile carrier has done with their latest commercial, which seems to be shared on all of my connections’ social networks, everywhere I look. Or possibly just on one person’s Facebook page – but that’s enough to implant this ear worm (and eye worm). Forever.
