The S3 Agency Awarded Advertising Duties for the Newark Museum’s “Wondrous Worlds” Exhibition of Islamic Art

The S3 Agency has been selected to create the advertising campaign for the Newark Museum’s Winter 2016 feature exhibition, Wondrous Worlds: Art & Islam through Time & Place. On view February 12 through May 15, “Wondrous Worlds” represents the most diverse collection of Islamic art in the United States, including more than 100 works from 26 countries spanning 13 centuries. The advertising campaign launches this week.

“We wanted to ensure maximum awareness for an exhibition of this magnitude, which represents a true cultural journey – available right here in our own Garden State,” said Denise Blasevick, CEO of The S3 Agency. “The Newark Museum is an invaluable resource, and ‘Wondrous Worlds’ represents another incredible opportunity for New Jersey residents and visitors. We are so proud to have been awarded creative duties for this cultural immersion.”

The creative concept behind the “Wondrous Worlds” ad campaign provides a peek into the rich cultural experience that awaits at the Newark Museum. Featuring elements ranging from the modern photography of living artists to centuries-old proverbs, the ads hint at the diversity represented by the exhibition. The S3 Agency is strategically localizing media efforts, focusing primarily on outdoor media to reach the public. High-profile billboards, including placements outside the Lincoln Tunnel, and transit displays will reach mass numbers of commuters and community members. On-campus posters will inform and inspire students at local universities, such as Seton Hall and Rutgers. And radio and print ads in cultural media programming round out the plan.

“It was clear that S3 had both the experience and the enthusiasm needed for this assignment,” said Deborah Kasindorf, Deputy Director, Institutional Advancement at the Newark Museum. “’Wondrous Worlds’ is one of the most diverse exhibitions our museum has ever offered. It will allow our community and museum-goers to experience the depth and variety of Islamic art.”

The Wondrous Worlds: Art & Islam through Time & Place exhibition will be on view February 12 through May 15, 2016 – Wednesdays through Sundays, noon through 5pm. To learn more, please visit newarkmuseum.org.
