Know what makes me happy? Old Navy’s new holiday-themed TV spots with famed characters from the 80s and 90s.

This spot features Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo and Juliette Lewis reenacting the well-known scene in which “Clark Griswold” attempts to flip the switch for the Griswold Light-tacular while the entire family stands around in anticipation, then disappointment. The twist here: it’s not just the house lights that pop – the crowd stands in amazement as their Old Navy “pop pants” start changing into different colors. Other “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” cast members are slated to appear in upcoming spots – if only they could secure Anthony Michael Hall (the original Rusty).

“When we thought about how we would bring Christmas to our audience with the next round of celebrities, there’s no family that’s more all the way than the Griswolds,” said Michelle Wlazlo, Old Navy’s global senior VP-adult merchandising.

Old Navy’s pop-culture inspired commercials have been executed with great success – the Griswold’s are sure to be embraced this holiday season. Beverly D’Angelo and Juliette Lewis still look great. Chevy Chase…
